The Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development program was pivotal in my development as a physician-scientist, supporting my lab’s discoveries linking skin androgen shifts in atopic dermatitis to Staphylococcus aureus pathogenesis. The mentorship and resources enabled us to translate this science into patient impact, including steps toward the commercialization of a targeted therapeutic for skin infection. The program also strengthened my leadership, mentoring, and collaborative reach across immunology, microbiology, and skin therapeutics.
